Feelin' Good

Day 122

Breakfast: NONE
Mid-morning snack: NONE
Lunch: grilled chicken and vegetables
Dinner: romaine and spinach salad w/feta cheese and grape tomatoes
Dessert: 4 blocks from a Hershey's bar

Hooray! Another successful dieting day! Geez, it's about time I get my butt in gear! I didn't exercise, but I'm gonna cut myself a break cos I didn't eat hardly anything today (forgive me for sleeping until 11 AM and skipping breakfast. At this time, sleep is just more important.).

A good day, I must say (no I'm not trying to rhyme)!! After sleeping 10+ hours, I headed up to OKC for class/clinic. It's the last day for clinic, so it was really short and sweet. My kiddo was definitely cute, but I'm ready for something new! After finishing up and putting away all the cards I used this eight weeks I headed home. Decided to eat dinner and finish the episode of 16 & Pregnant I started this afternoon during lunch. Then I made fruit salad and chili for tomorrow's lunch and at almost 9 PM I'm just getting around to studying. Geez. Well, at least I have my presentation ready for tomorrow. I mean, no where near saying I'll do well when he asks me questions, but if I can get through the presenting part, I'll just have to be honest from there if he asks me something I don't know. Pray for me that he doesn't ask something too far-fetched!

I'm feeling good, surprisingly. I mean, I'm not at all prepared for the upcoming tests, but God's put a peace in my heart and calmed my nerves about it, and I can't thank Him enough! I'm truly doing the very most that I can, aside from staying up all night (which would do me no good anyway, because then I wouldn't be able to study or do anything the next day for being so tired). I study as much as I can without going insane, and really, I mean.. What else can I do? Just looking forward to this exact time, 1 week from now... When all I have to worry about it losing weight to look sickening awesome in my MoH dress and throwing the best darn bachelorette party that I possibly can.

A friend and former adjunct professor of mine recommended the book Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, not Food. I ordered it yesterday, actually, and it came in today! Now that's fast shipping, if I do say so myself. I ordered it so early to give it time to get here so I could read it once finals over. Having it here now... Staring at me as I attempt to study... Is going to be a huge temptation. However, I know that the only time is NOW to get this studying done, so I have to wait to start reading. Darn you, literature!

Note: I haven't pleasure-read since I began college in 2007.

Well, now I must say goodbye because it's time to get back to it.

'Night y'all!

P.S. Speaking of literature... Husband requested a leather-bound copy of Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan for our anniversary. So I looked it up and, to no surprise, the leather-bound copies are upwards of $100. However, I was extremely surprised to come across a copy that was (take a breath).... $30,860!!! Okay, now I know a 1st edition, printed in 1671, is a huge deal... but $30,000?!?! I could buy a new car with that!! We could pay off our mortgage with that!!!

I guess I don't love books enough.

P.S.S. (P.P.S.?)
This happened while I was cutting up my fruit for the salad today...
I don't think cutting boards are supposed to have gaps in them.
It's a sad day in the Rogers' household.

  1. It's not a sad cutting board- it made a cross! That's a good sign. Can you send me one too:)

  2. HAH! I'm with Erin... that was the first thing that came to my mind, too... I initially thought the 'cross' was embedded or painted on! hehe xP
